He is currently serving a sentence of 11 years and 3 months in prison for the Corinaldo massacre, after being sentenced a few months ago together with the other members of the so-called spray gang. But the 26-year-old of Tunisian origins recognized among the culprits of what happened almost five years ago in the Marche region should end up again in front of the judge: he was in fact accused of the theft by tearing off three gold necklaces in a nightclub in Fabriano, for a predatory act which would have materialized two months before the tragedy (and which would have also proved to be decisive in shedding light on the dramatic facts of Corinaldo, in retrospect). This is what was reported in the last few hours by the local press, for a new judicial proceeding which should get under way at the end of the year.
Based on the allegations, the young foreigner would have become the protagonist in the autumn of 2018 of the theft of three gold necklaces in another restaurant in the province of Ancona. It was October 14, 2018 when three patrons of a nightclub in Fabriano realized that someone had stolen the gold chains they wore around their necks, probably taking advantage of the darkness or the crowd. The carabinieri then arrived on the spot, who proceeded to a routine check by stopping some cars near the building. And among other things, they stopped the very car in which the Tunisian was travelling, finding one of the three precious objects in his pocket. But that assessment, with hindsight, proved to be fundamental above all for turning the Corinaldo investigation around. Yes, because that evening, in Fabriano, together with the North African there were two young men who later turned out to be members of the spray gang.
And also thanks to the subsequent analysis of the telephone records and the messages that the boys in question, the investigators managed to reconstruct exactly the dynamics of the events of that night between 7 and 8 December which cost the lives of six people. A large group of very young people (about 1500) had, as is known, flocked to the Lanterna Azzurra club to attend the concert of rapper Sfera Ebbasta, when the band sprayed pepper spray on the crowd, causing panic among those present. In an attempt to escape the attack, everyone headed for the exit creating a dangerous traffic jam that claimed the lives of five minors and a young mother. If that proceeding was definitively closed on December 12, another one is about to open for the Tunisian. And the hearing was immediately postponed to next December 11, due to the defendant’s failure to translate in court.
