Aaron Rodgers’s debut with the New York Jets was unexpected, to say the least. Yet, he is the hero of his recovery process. One week, Rodgers was gearing up for his debut, the next week he was in hospital getting treatment for an Achilles tear. The injury is taking its sweet time to heal. However, Rodgers being a true athlete at his core, is doing all he can to heal at a faster pace. So much so that it grabbed the (in) famous Skip Bayless’ attention.
Bayless is known for his unapologetic criticism a bit too much. While the senior analyst maintains his professionalism while giving his two cents, it is the criticism that makes waves on the internet. Hence the rare words of praise coming from Bayless are bound to get more views, and worth.
Aaron Rodgers earns Skip Bayless’s praise
Speaking of worth, Aaron Rodgers earned some when Bayless spared him of the criticism, something the QB has been dealing with since he got his injury, and a brave performance debut against the Buffalo Bills this season. Rodgers’ bait of appearing in a game week after week kept the fans engaged throughout. While the fans were hoping to get some Jets’ Rodgers’s showdown, Bayless focused on the behind-the-scenes progress that Rodgers was making. Astoundingly, the pace of it was praise-worthy for Bayless. “I do think Aaron is somewhat ahead of schedule, but not so ahead of schedule that he was ever seriously contemplating stepping on a football field,” commented Bayless.

Along with this, Bayless also called him an “all-time master media manipulator“, applauding his finesse for handling the media questions, and his reputation all along. Currently, Rodgers’s status is updated to IR, which means fans can drop the last shreds of hopes they had of seeing Rodgers play this season. All because of his torn Achilles tendon, something that he saw coming.
Rodgers knew about Achilles’ tear before the MRI
On the Pat McAfee show, Rodgers disclosed his knowledge of his tendon tear on the show, well before any tests were conducted. “I knew I tore my Achilles. I had popped my calf a few times… and it was not that sensation, so I knew that this was not a good situation,” confessed he. Later, he also said, “Before even an MRI, I knew what happened,”

Now all that’s left to answer is his recovery time. “I definitely have some odds stacked against me based on age, but I like it,” said he. With the brimming positivity he carries with himself, no wonder the fans get charmed by him, making him the ‘master media manipulator’ Bayless applauds.
