Patrick Mahomes might be having his worst season ever, but there could be relief in sight for his younger brother Jackson Mahomes. He was charged with aggravated se**al battery for an incident that took place in Kansas City last year. But the latest hearing from the case has reportedly gone in his favor.

A judge in the Johnson County Court dismissed three felony charges against Mahomes after the prosecutors filed a motion. There’s still one misdemeanor charge left that could face a trial. However, it’s significantly less critical than the three dropped. The social media star’s attorney as well, further supported the decision claiming his innocence.

Three felony charges dropped against Jackson Mahomes

Court documents revealed that the victim of the case intended to appeal for Fifth Amendment rights if she was asked to further explain her claims. Which is basically the same as ‘the right to remain silent’. The prosecutors also informed the court that the victim was ready to call her earlier interactions with the police dishonest.

Evaluating all sides, the court decided to dismiss the felony charges which the prosecutors themselves applied for. Mahomes’ attorney Brandon Davies earlier also claimed his client’s innocence to Fox4 on Tuesday. “Like I said from the beginning, Jackson has done nothing wrong. We had full confidence that the truth of the matter would ultimately be revealed”, Mr. Davies said.

However, the trial for the misdemeanor charge could still take place in March. But why were the charges suddenly dropped for the February 2023 incident?

Charges dropped but uncertainty remains on Jackson Mahomes

The incident took place in the Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park, Kansas City. Its owner, Aspen Vaugh, claimed that the TikTok star shoved one of her employees, and she took him to a different room. That’s when, according to the owner, Mahomes attempted improper se**al conduct, which was apparently recorded by a CCTV camera. Mahomes was arrested following her complaint and the restaurant eventually shut down in August.

On Wednesday, the prosecutors filed a motion to drop the charges against Mahomes. They also argued that refusing to testify doesn’t mean it never happened, as the victim was preparing to use the Fifth Amendment. District attorney Megan Ahsens meaningfully said “Victims, especially in se**al assault cases, recant for a variety of reasons”, further complexing the dismissal.

Jackson Mahomes may have gone out of trouble for now, but the sensitivity of the topic will continue to invite mixed attention to the QB’s brother’s life.
