On February 14th, the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, accompanied by the Secretary of State for Energy, António Belsa da Costa, received Danae Pauli, who serves as Counselor to the Government of the United States of America for the “Global Partnership for Infrastructure and Investment” program. Also present at the meeting was the Ambassador of Angola to the United States of America, Agostinho Van-Dúnem.
During the meeting, discussions revolved around topics concerning the integration of high-voltage transmission/transportation line projects in the Southern and Eastern regions, as part of the Lobito Corridor framework. Additionally, the parties deliberated on the preparation for the Strategic Energy Dialogue, the assistance from the Power Africa Program, and the second phase of the Sun Africa project for the installation of Solar Parks in the country.
It is worth noting that the GPII, an institution of the American Government, is involved in the implementation and operationalization of the Lobito Corridor projects.
