Warner Bros. has made a remarkable decision to allow the upcoming live-action-animation hybrid film “Coyote vs. Acme” to be shopped to other studios. Following the backlash from filmmakers, the studio has decided to do this in order to give the film the justice which it deserves.
The live-action-animation hybrid movie, which was originally planned to be released on HBO Max, was shelved by the studio last weekend as a tax write-off. However, now there is a ray of hope for the film as the studio has allowed it to be shopped to other studios.
The film, which had a budget of $72 million, had its principal photography completed. The film is directed by the renowned director, Mike Mitchell, and the cast includes some of the biggest names from Hollywood including the likes of Will Ferrell, John Cleese, and Bill Hader.
The news of Warner Bros. allowing other studios to shop for the film has been welcomed with open arms by the filmmakers as it will now mean that the film will see the light of day. The decision has been especially appreciated by the cast and crew who have worked tirelessly on the film and the expectations of the fans have also been met with this decision.
The film follows the misadventures of Wile E. Coyote, the Warner Bros. cartoon character who has been featured in Looney Tunes since 1949. The film sees him trying to catch the elusive Road Runner, while he has to take on the daunting task of going up against the Acme Corporation, the company which supplies him with his various contraptions which fail to do the job.
The script of the film has been written by the popular screenwriter, Jeffery Ventimilia, and the film has been produced by the powerhouse production company, Team Downey.
The news of Warner Bros. allowing the film to be shopped to other studios has been met with enthusiasm as it gives the filmmakers a chance to get the film out there and have it reach the audiences.
It remains to be seen which studio will pick up the film and what kind of a release it will get. However, one thing is certain — the film will now get the attention it deserves and the filmmakers will get the recognition which is their due for coming up with this unique concept.
It is heartening to see Warner Bros. taking such a positive step and allowing the film to be shopped to other studios, thus giving it a chance to be seen by audiences everywhere.
It will be interesting to see how the film does in the coming months and it is safe to say that the fans are already looking forward to the release of “Coyote vs. Acme”.
