It was on the eighth day of conflict that a memorandum of understanding was signed, this Thursday, June 29, 2023, between the employees and the management of the Derichebourg company. Waste collection, in particular that of green waste and bulky items, can therefore resume normally in Saint-Joseph and Saint-Philippe.

The employees had stopped work since June 20, to denounce their working conditions and the poor condition of the waste collection trucks.

A meeting with CASUD this Friday

On Thursday, a conciliation commission was organized in Saint-Denis, leading to the signing of the memorandum of understanding. Nevertheless, Casud has planned to meet the management in charge of waste collection in Saint-Philippe and Saint-Joseph this Friday.

This movement was already preceded by another strike last April, again to point the finger at malfunctions in the equipment used.
