Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, serving as the National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, highlighted the crucial role of worker-employer collaboration in driving the country’s progress during the XV National Ordinary Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM). She affirmed a strong commitment to enhancing labor rights and preventing any regression to past practices.

In her address, Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized that the alignment of objectives and goals is essential for sustaining the transformation of Mexico’s public life. She underscored the necessity of advancing the Fourth Transformation and steering clear of a return to eras marked by corruption and privilege.

Following the inauguration of the first Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation of CATEM, Sheinbaum reaffirmed the pledge to ensure a dignified life for workers. She emphasized the importance of collaboration between the labor and business sectors, a strategy supported by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Pedro Haces Barba, Senator of the Republic and Secretary General of CATEM, praised the achievements resulting from the cooperation between labor representatives and the 4T government. He cited progress such as the rise in the minimum wage and the abolition of outsourcing, stressing that every decision should be grounded in the principles of the 4T movement.

Senator Ricardo Monreal pointed out the significance of reinforcing the relationship between workers and the government to further expand labor rights under Sheinbaum Pardo’s leadership.

The XV National Congress of CATEM was attended by notable figures including Mario Delgado Carrillo, National President of Morena, along with governors and representatives from various institutions, all of whom demonstrated strong support for the principles and objectives set forth at the congress.
